10 Feb 09 | As the extent of the damage caused by the Victorian bushfires became apparent on Monday Palerang Council and the Bendigo Bank have co-ordinated to help with donations to the victims.
10 Feb 09 | The Natural Sequence Association is hosting a day trip to Reidsdale and Berlang on Saturday February 21. The aim of the day is to demonstrate techniques for land rehydration and the results that might be expected.

06 Feb 09 | The Two Fires Festival has been successful in receiving funding for 2009 from the NSW Department of State and Regional Development. The $10,000 grant, provided under the Community Economic Development Program for towns with a population of less than 2000, will assist specifically the cost of marketing material and professional forum speakers.
06 Feb 09 | Former Mayor of Palerang Mr James (Jim) Maclachlan, from Burra was awarded the Medal Of The Order Of Australia in The General Division (OAM) on Australia Day.
The award was given for service to the community through roles in the Palerang and Yarrowlumla Shire Councils, the Rural Fire Service, the Scouting movement and other service and sporting organisations.
