"The title aptly describes the involvement of Patrick Coffey during his short life of forty-six years" Jeff Bradley said. "Since moving to Braidwood at the start of the last century the Coffey family has maintained a continuous presence in the town, of which they are justly very proud."

Patrick Coffey was Mayor of Braidwood from 3 May 1915 to 20 November 1916. Records from the local papers of the day, the Braidwood Dispatch and the Braidwood Review provide ample evidence of the generous and whole-hearted manner in which Mr Coffey involved himself in almost every aspect of life in Braidwood between 1900 and 1916. Following his death the community wanted to perpetuate his memory and a memorial was erected in the Braidwood cemetery following public subscription.

"As a little boy growing up in Braidwood, I heard many stories about my grandfather" said well known local identity Ray Coffey said after accepting his copy of the publication. "These stories always filled me with pride. I'm pleased that others now will have the opportunity to share those stories through Jeff's publication. I know my grandfather was a great man and I am looking forward to learning more about him."

Ray's older brother Patrick, who was named after his grandfather, was also pleased to receive his copy of the publication. "There mightn't be many Coffeys left in Braidwood, but the memory of my grandfather's involvement shouldn't be forgotten" he said.

The Braidwood museum and the Braidwood Review and Dispatch are acknowledged in the work which is available through a number of outlets in Braidwood.
