Depth of talent showcased at fundraiser

18 May, 2006 09:32 AM
With two sell out performances at the Doncaster, the depth of local talent was showcased Wednesday and Thursday evenings to raise money for 'Dr Dan Murphy's Clinic and the Alola foundation for women and children'in East Timor.

Poet Jeremy Nelson collaborated with Richard Steele on guitar, evoking the pleasure of his daily walks around Braidwood. Laszlo Strasser performed Beethoven, with Catherine Garrett at the piano, and BCS music teacher Norman Meader entertained with cabaret songs from the piano. The performance also included singing by Merrilyn Simmons and 'Madrigala's' small group singing and the voices of Braidwood's own community choir the Cantors, who led us in a final musical round of audience participation.

The fundraiser was organized by the Social Justice Group at St Bede's.
