Finlay Lloyd Publishers launched

21 Sep, 2006 10:18 AM
Independent Publishing House Finlay Lloyd was launched in Braidwood on Saturday at the New Library with the book of 15 essays, When Books Die. The essays explore the issue of it mattering if no books existed. The contributors are Patricia Anderson, Jean Beck, Sally Blakeney, Julian Davies, Phil Day, James Grieve, Ingeborg Hansen, Ashley Hay, Meredith McKinney, Melanie Ostell, Andrew Schuller, Bruce Sims, Rosemary Sorenson, Robin Wallace-Crabbe, and Hartmann Wallis.

The new venture has grown out of Phil Day and Ingeborg Hansen's Finlay Press operated from the Braidwood Book and Print Room in Lascelles Street, that for some years has produced hand-made small editions.

Finlay Lloyd is a joint venture with novelist Julian Davies and former local Robin Wallace-Crabbe. 7.30 Report political editor Michael Brissenden was in Braidwood to launch the venture.
