Flag Flies again on St Andrews.

Flag Flies again on St Andrews.

13 Jul, 2006 12:45 PM
Following an absence of over 30 years the flag is flying again from the tower of St Andrews Anglican Church. Many of the older locals (some now living away) will remember the flag flying on the tower which could be seen from all direction coming into the town. The old flag pole became unserviceable and was never replaced and a pole was erected on the ground on the southern side of the church entrance. Some years ago a donation was received from an interested person living in Canberra who could remember the flag flying when he was growing up in Braidwood and requested that his donation go towards a new pole to be put back on the tower. Since then other contributions have been received and eventually a new flag pole was purchased and erected last Friday.

The parish is very grateful to the donors and to those who helped with the erection of the new pole. Contributed by Brian McDonald
