Palerang Council has moved to spend a $20,000 grant from the Heritage Office.
In a letter from the Heritage Office, it was explained that the purpose of the grant was to develop a tourism strategy for Braidwood and other towns in Bungendore, including Braidwood.
Following the support of a motion put forward by Crs Walter Raynold and Murray Harrex, Palerang Council accepted a proposal put forward by the tourism advisory committee.
Palerang Council will spend approximately $10,000 on Braidwood entry signs, heritage signs at major access points, and subsidising the reprinting of the Braidwood & Villages Tourism brochure.
The remaining funds will be used to support the development of a heritage route from Canberra to the South Coast.
