On Tuesday 15th August St Bede's welcomed, with much enthusiasm, Jackie French. Jackie enthralled the children for an hour telling her stories of wombats, sharing pointers on how to write a good 'fat' story and finally reading Pete the Sheep encouraging much audience participation. Jackie very generously donated three of her most recent books (one will not be released till October) to our library and then autographed some treasured books that some of the children had brought in from home. It was a wonderful afternoon and a terrific way to launch our Book Week celebrations.
