ART EXHIBITION
Under the sponsorship of the Mayor, Councillor Jim Maclachlan, Palerang Council is holding an Acquisitive Art Competition and Exhibition. The aim is to acquire a prize-winning artwork to hang in the foyer of the new Council Offices in Bungendore.
Entries may be traditional, representational, experimental or abstract but they must clearly reflect Mount Palerang itself not views or themes of the wider Council area. Only two-dimensional works can be entered. These may be drawings, paintings, or prints. Bas-relief-type work in ceramics, metal, textile or wood, - suitably mounted for hanging on a wall, will also be accepted.
The Exhibition will be held first at the National Theatre in Braidwood over the weekend of 16/17th September 2006. An expert panel will choose a short-list from the exhibited entries. The short-listed works will then be exhibited in Bungendore the following weekend. The expert panel will choose the winner from the shortlist. The winner will receive a cash prize of two thousand dollars given by Cr Maclachlan.
Entry Forms with conditions of Entry can be obtained from Palerang Council Offices in Braidwood and Bungendore. Indigenous Australians who claim Palerang as country may enter regardless of their current place of residence. All other entrants must be resident in Palerang Council area.
Completed forms, together with a $10 Entry Fee must be returned to the Council on or before Friday 8th September. Late entries will not be accepted.
