Braidwood Polocrosse Club held their tournament on the weekend at the Showgrounds. hosting teams from Jugiong, Canberra, Sydney, Burradoo, Yass as well as local teams. The competition was fast and furious on Saturday with some of our best state players and horses showing their skills. The Braidwood tournament was cancelled on Sunday due to the very strong winds making play impossible.
Many of our Braidwood Players went home with prizes. Abby Thompson won the Best Sub Junior Player. Patrick Clarke won Best Junior Player. Encouragement Awards were given to Ryan Webb for Juniors, James Dent for Sub Juniors and Karen Leishmen for Womens. Letita Hart won Best and Fairest Junior Player. Wendy Barlow won Best Women's Player, Michael Laurie and horse 'Kneel' won the Michael Griffin trophy for Champion Horse and Rider Combination. 'A' Grade Open was won by Burradoo with Braidwood runners up. 'B' Grade Open was won by Yass with Braidwood as runners up. Junior competition was won by Braidwood with the second Braidwood team taking out the runners up prizes.
