Our friendly festival of music, dance, poetry, sessions, workshops and kid's activities is celebrating its 15th year this year.
Perhaps you're a regular and wouldn't miss it for quids, or a newcomer who wants to know what it's about, or a local who's found every excuse why you haven't come in the past, well this is the year not to let procrastination lead to massive disappointment.
Why you ask! Well, here are some of the highlights you'll kick yourself for missing if you don't show.
The Wheelers and Dealers combine skilful acoustic instrumental delivery from some of Australia's top ranked musicians with the voice of Chris Wheeler, a voice of such warmth and clarity you'll think you're drinking your end of day red.
They have played live on ABC and community radio, the Basement, the Rocks, Manly Corso, Rugby World Cup semi finals 2003, festivals including the National Folk Festival, wineries, pubs and clubs, and to cap it all, they are also worthy winners of 2007 Folk Alliance Australia Presenters Choice Award.
Have we whet your appetite. Well here's more.
Kate and Ruth (Kate Burke and Ruth Hazleton).
Kate and Ruth have spent the last nine years playing together at festivals around Australia and overseas, and their trademark interpretations of folk songs have won them great acclaim and popularity.
They are preparing for their third tour of the UK and have just released their fourth album, "Summer's Lonesome Tale".
Kate and Ruth have toured Ireland and recorded with legendary Irish singer Andy Irvine, and have performed with the likes of James Keelaghan and Kristina Olsen.
"Kate and Ruth have something that is rare in the professional music world: a totally unaffected and easy manner combined with a great deal of vocal and instrumental skill. I love them." (James Keelaghan)
With an endorsement like that from a famous Canadian, and having recorded with the legendary Irishman, you'll have to beat me to a seat.
But, if your taste is more traditional Australian then you won't want to miss Chloe and Jason Roweth.
Chloe and Jason (Us Not Them) combine strong original songs, old-style ballads and thoughtful arrangements of our beautiful, but lesser known Australian collected material in their repertoire.
"I get great delight from watching and hearing "Us Not Them" (Jason and Chloe) perform together. Crystal clear singing and sensitive instrumental accompaniment. Their coordination is superb. Definitely a class act..." Ted Egan AM
This Bathurst based duo strive to maintain the tradition of Australian music, collecting songs from bush families like the Bobbin family and Carrie Milliner. They will also be appearing with the seven-piece band Collector with its own brand of corrugated iron folk.
Speaking of class acts, then put this on your list of must see. Michael Kennedy has been hailed as arguably the most beautiful male voice on the Australia folk scene. Winner of the National Folk Festival award for vocal excellence. With a voice "ice pure" and "lyrics to pry you open", Michael mixes poetic intimacy with a love of audience participation.
Now that's just five of the sixty acts at this year's festival. So to avoid that disappointment, get your early bird ticket now by ringing Jan on 4842 2887, or going on-line at www.musicatthecreek.com and I'll try to keep you a seat.
More in coming weeks.
