The yarding met good competition from a large gallery of buyers from Milton, Albury, Crookwell, Wagga, Goulburn, Queanbeyan, Boorowa, Wodonga, Melbourne, Moruya, Mangoplah, Swan Hill, Moss Vale, Tumut, Young, Nowra, Yass, Canberra, Barraba, Gundagai, Walcha, Wagga, Orange, Sutton, Shepparton, Byrock, Forbes, Hoskingtown, and also some local district competition.
The quality of the yarding was generally excellent, but a percentage of the yarding was showing the effects of the very ordinary season we are experiencing in the Braidwood district. Like many other districts this has gone on for far too long but this still did not diminish the quality coming out of our district which was very evident.
With the hard start all these cattle had it was it was a great pleasure to see how they all presented on the day This just goes to show the genetic strength and doing ability the Braidwood district cattle have. The breeders should be congratulated for their presentation and maintaining the breeding standards they have built up over the years. In all I would estimate the cattle yarded would have been at least 30 to 40 kgs lighter than this time last year.
