A former co-ordinator for the Open Garden Scheme and presenter of the ABC Garden Show on 666, Jacob's outdoor broadcast was from author and gardener Jackie French's garden, to launch her regular Monday afternoon talks on Canberra ABC this year. The show gathered together a group of Jackie's friends and neighbours, all with strong ties to the district.
The programme interviewed long time, peach grower Noel Wisbey and current orchardist Robyn Clubb, organic vegetable growers Conrad and Carol Kindrachuk, environmentalist Paul Dann, geographer and ranconteur Tony Shepherd, and artist Victoria Clutterbuck about what it means to be at home, and how you make a place your own.
The interviews were interspersed by live music under the crab apple tree from the Braidwood Cantors, accompanied by two lyrebirds who decided to join the singing, plus peach, apple and kei apple tastings, the consumption of 160 zucchini muffins and sweet potato curry muffins (baked in a solar oven), Carol's home grown walnut pesto, Robyn's fresh peach muffins, and a wide ranging discussion about growing and eating food, sustainable living, the history of peaches in the valley, and what makes people choose to live beyond the suburbs
