As Braidwood prepares to celebrate 80 years of Scouting, we're on the hunt for Braidwood's oldest Scout. Someone in our community holds the honour of being the most senior former member of 1st Braidwood Scouts, and if it is you (or you know who it is), we want to hear from you. We've had one or two leads, but the hunt is far from over. So please get in contact with us if you are or know a candidate.
And if you were you once a Scout, Cub, Guide, or Leader here or somewhere else, we'd like to hear from you as well, as we'd like to invite you to our first ever Alumni Roundup and Celebration of Scouting on April 5th. The whole community is invited, but former Scouts of all stripes will be our particular guests of honour.
As was noted last week in the Times, we are also marking the retirement of Barry Thomas, the current Leader in Charge, and Leader of the Joeys and Scouts. As you will see on April 5th, Barry leaves behind a very strong group of current Scouts, Cubs, and Joeys. As we do not yet have a replacement, we invite members of the community to help make sure future Braidwoodians will be able to enjoy the fun and learning that the Scouting movement provides, and has provided locally for eight decades.
So come along on Saturday, April 5th to Braidwood's Celebration of Scouting. Everyone is invited (young and old, former Scouts or not) for a range of activities and a sausage sizzle. And if you are a former Scout, Guide, or Leader, or think you know who the oldest 1st Braidwood Scout might be, please let us know on info@laughingowl.com.au or phone 0409 609 428.
