The Braidwood Historical Society received a grant in January 2000 to join with the Central School to make two copies of each of 100 of the photos that had been displayed at the Sesquicentenary of the school in 1999.
The Braidwood Historical Society and the Braidwood Central School also contributed funds. By December 2000, the 100 photos had been copied by Nevin Ellis of “Baidoura Photographics”. This ensured that none of the valuable originals were sent out of the district.
During 2001 Lisa Pearson and Jill Clarke who were in charge of the original presentation in 1999, have listed the names of pupils and teachers in each photo.
The Historical Society’s 100 photos will be available to the public. The 100 photos are now presented to the Headmaster, Mr McClure to be kept in the historical files for reference by future generations of the school community.
