Garanvale Woolshed was once again a very suitable venue for the Braidwood Show Society Dinner held on Saturday, May 19. The Anglican Women performed miracles in more ways than one with a delightful roast dinner followed by a choice of yummy pavlova or steamed pudding. In true Braidwood style, the expected number of 62 swelled into nearly 80! Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Thirty magnificent trophies were awarded during the evening. It is possible to name only a few winners in this space - the Wongabel Horse Adventure Trophy for the grand champion hack of the show was won by K Dengate-Gaultier; the Bob Ramm Memorial Trophy for the supreme champion exhibit British and Australian breeds was fittingly won by Barbara Ramm and the Vision Concrete and Landscaping Shield for champion merino ram flock section was won by Malcolm Rolfe. Ben Stuart won the Len Mutton and Co Trophy for the best youth poultry exhibit. The most successful exhibitor’s awards went to Brittney McGlone (K and T Harrison Shield), Ken Harrison won the Hassall Cup as the most successful exhibitor in the Tallaganda Shire and also won the Crossfire Braidwood Gold Cup for the most successful exhibitor at the 126th Braidwood Show. It is not too early to plan for next year. Why not accept the challenge to win one of the Show Society’s magnificent trophies in 2002? Trophies are awarded in sections for horses, beef cattle, sheep, poultry, vegetables and fruit, jams and cookery, flowers and floral art.
