The iconic Braidwood Show will take place on Saturday March 15th at the Showground from 9 am until evening whenever that it is-the Blues band, The Cosh will entertain and full bar services will continue into twilight.
With the uncertainty of the horse events, we are running other in ring events while cattle and sheep judging will be of the usual high standard with sheep and cattle coming from all over southern New South Wales. Rosheen O'Brien has organised a stunning array of poultry and water fowl. Alpacas have been invited and the yabby races are on! Breaking news! The Dog Show is back!
For some people the Pavilion is their main Show interest with the fruit and veg section, the handicrafts, wool displays, cakes, jams and preserves, home brew, woodwork and photography, needlework, knitting quilting and more! There is something for everyone.
For the young and the young at heart, the Show is about sideshows, rides, hot dogs, hot chips and drinks and this year we will have more sideshows and the latest rides coming straight from the Royal Canberra Show.
Armies march on their stomachs and we have varied food stalls, BBQ's, hot potatoes, pies, sandwiches and gourmet foods and crepes, coffee stations, burgers and drinks including our fully licensed bars to keep everyone fully charged.
We will present a Grand Parade of vintage cars featuring the Braidwood Show Girl and Junior Show Girl. There will be chain saw racing, axe work, block splitting as well as the heavily sponsored Shearing events. We also present various exhibitions from Water authorities, Fire Brigades, town and rural with their usual fire fighting and car cutting and Pasture Protection, Land care, Wires and more.
People wanting to be involved in our show should contact Geoff Gage (48 421919 ) and he will give details re commercial sites and costs. The commercial side of the show has increased greatly of late and we have some great displays, stalls and attractions.
