Community and chemical user concern about farm chemicals in agriculture and horticulture has grown in recent years.
The concern focuses especially on environmental, market access and health issues.
Legislation controls the development, manufacture, distribution and the use of farm chemicals. However for safe and effective use of farm chemicals, users in the workplace need to be well informed.
The aim of the course is to provide users with the knowledge and skills to achieve industry competencies.
This accreditation is required for the purchase of restricted farm chemical products and for the implementation of on-farm Quality Assurance (QA) programs. It also informs employers of their OH&S obligations in regard to farm chemical use by employees and contractors.
All assessment is easily completed during the courses. Participants in each course need to complete assessable exercises, and at the end an open book test is given.
