Current Chamber of Commerce members Jill McLeod and Bruce Keeley spoke about the history of the Chamber and the legalities involved with its organisation. It was decided that it was more practicable to continue the Chamber of Commerce rather than start up another group. John Gannon spoke about having decisions and activities as open and transparent as possible.
The possibility of having a town trial of a 'Happy to Haggle' promotion in association with Choice Australia was put forward by Scott Sully-Watkins. He also spoke about the promotion of local businesses by use of a web ring, which created a lot of discussion. Matt Hulse talked about mapping data and collecting demographic information related to Braidwood to indicate trends, which could be used as marketing tools. Much vigorous debate followed and although it showed that different businesses had quite different needs it was apparent that everyone involved was keen to promote Braidwood as that is good for all local businesses.
