Christmas lights for Braidwood

#Now in its third year, the competition to Light Up Braidwood for the Christmas period is on again this year with a little more spark. Country Energy has come on board to sponsor the competition with some excellent prize monies. Also sponsoring the competition again this year are Darren Rowley Electrician, Solar Powered Solutions, Braidwood Servicemenís Club and Bensleyís Bus and Coachís. Thursday, December 20 at 8pm there will be a bus tour of Braidwood to view the Christmas lights. Meet at Ryrie Park, $2 donation per person for the pre-school and there will be a complimentary glass of champagne ñ bring your own cheer as well.

The guest judge will be Nicole Campbell from Country Energy, Queanbeyan. Winners will be displayed on the in-house TV at the Servicemenís Club Friday evening, December 21 and published in the Tallaganda Times. Prize winning categories and sponsors are: Best shop/business display, $200 from Country Energy; best novelty, $65 from Country Energy; best group of houses, $250 from Country Energy; best house lights display, $150 from Darren Rowley Electrician; best house window, solar powered outdoor light valued at $65 from Solar Powered Solutions; childrenís choice, $50 from Braidwood Servicemenís Club.

For the childrenís choice prize winning category, mum or dad may need to help with the jotting down of the address details of their childís choice, along with their name and phone number. Votes can be sent to Christmas Lights Competition, PO Box 250, Braidwood 2622 or by placing your vote in the letterbox at the Solar Powered Solutions shop, 139 Wallace Street, Braidwood. Voting ends Friday, December 21.
