Crowds flock to 134th Braidwood Show

19 Mar, 2009 02:10 PM
The horses were back after last year's equine influenza restrictions, athletic events were popular, the pavilion was full of quality produce and everyone seemed to be having a good time. "I am already looking forward to next year!" said Braidwood Show Society Committee Matthew Hulse.

President Barry McDowall said "considering the dry conditions and the state of the economy, the show was an outstanding success and a credit to the district. It was particularly pleasing to see so many people travel to Braidwood to take part in the show which is the premier family event of the year."

"There were also record numbers of entries into the dog competitions" added Barry. "Sheep numbers were down and cattle was led only, but the quality was up to the usual very high standard."

Full results from the show will be available in next week's Braidwood Times.
