This year, re-badged as the Festival of Braidwood, the markets, parade and displays were held under sunny conditions, but crowds were down on last year. The change of date to just after the school holidays appeared to catch some residents unaware.
Several car clubs came to Braidwood for the parade from Canberra and the Illawarra providing a shining display of mostly British marques. Other floats in the parade were entered by the Central School, Braidwood Film Club (with a Reservoir Dogs theme), vintage tractors from the south coast, Carriages by Cupid, and the Elrington Hotel at Majors Creek, with the Boiled Lolly Shop parading life size confectionary. The O'Rourke's funeral carriage made the trip from Melbourne to make a dramatic addition to the parade, and won the prize for the Best Horse Drawn Vehicle. Best Float went to the Elrington Hotel at Majors Creek.
Winner of the Best Dressed Family was the Parsons Family of Judy, Ela and Jarrah, with Ela also taking out the best Dressed child award. Zelma McKie took out Best Dressed Lady. Jim Wilson on his penny farthing was awarded Best Dressed Man.
Best shop windows were awarded to 1st Len Mutton & Co., 2nd and third prizes went to Helen Hart's displays in the empty shop next to the Chemist.
In Ryrie Park, the 'blackboard' concert saw a number of local musicians take to the microphone, and there were displays of vintage engines and blacksmithing.
On Sunday there was a guided tour of the Historic Cemetery.
