Sebony trained by Chris Strickland from the Sapphire Coast has won the $10,000 Braidwood Cup for the second year in a row. Kristen Smart rode Sebony to the win, edging out Paramount Pete for second and third Magpie Speak on the ‘dead’ track.
It was a big day out for the girls, with female jockeys taking out all six races on the card. Natasha Winton won race one on Banana Bender. Kayla Nisbet took out race 2 on Getevenwithstephen and race 6 on Mumon.
Natalie Lye won race 3 aboard Corporate Magician, and Amy Van Der Sanden won race 4 with Set Match.
The weather held for a fine day in Braidwood with mild conditions. The attendance was just over 1400 through the gate, and the lucky book prize went to Josephine Webb from Queanbeyan.
