Juniors

Meercats 2 v Mustangs 0. Goal scorers were G Toikens and R Webb. Best and fairest went to G Toikens, P Martin and W Atkinson, L Hart, C Hart and C Williams. Great game, good goalkeeping by P Koch and A Royds kept Mustangs at bay. G Toikens scored her first goal. Passing and dribbling continue to improve.

Bandicoots 0 v Squirrels 0. Best and fairest went to Claudia Armiger, Iain Atkinson and Emily Hart and James Richards, Jason Nucifora and Jacob Moy. A battle of defences with some intelligent positioned play. Squirrels stood up to some heavy pressure in the first half but kept the ‘Coots goalless. Both sides had their chances in the second half but timely saves resulted in a draw.

Sub Juniors

Red 3 v Green 0. This was a fast game with both sides showing strong defence. A brilliant back flip was performed by Mr Roberts in the first half and some fancy footwork was shown by Cameron. Ben saved some great goals. A special thank you to Mandy O’Brien who provided sub-juniors with a very professional looking soccer bag. It is great to see such a huge crowd of parents supporting our youngest “Socceroos” each week and in all kinds of weather! Some have even confessed to enjoying it and looking forward to the next week.

Intermediates

Hur ricanes 6 v Anacondas 0. A great effort from both teams. The Hurricanes played a solid all over game and scored three goals in the first half, followed by two in the second and an own goal. The Anacondas had a couple of unsuccessful attempts at goal but kept up a good defence. Well done both teams. This win now puts the Hurricanes fourth on the ladder on 8 points with the Anacondas close behind in fifth on 7 points. Goal scorers were Jared Hodgson 2, Michael Ison 1, Matthew Hannaford 1, Daniel Ison 1. Best and fairest went to Hurricanes Genevieve Hannaford, Brooke Williams and Michael Ison and Anacondas Tegan Bensley, Rebecca Black and Tayla Bennett.

Hornets 5 v Flyers 2. A very hard fought even game with the Hornets able to capitalise on their opportunities a little stronger. Goal scorers were Lewis Holland 3 and Jake Holland 2 for the Hornets and Zac Elliott scored both the goals for the Flyers. Best and fairest was awarded to Lewis Holland, Billy Clarke and Rodney Willard for the Hornets and the Flyers Zac Elliott, Kris Anderson and Laura Jackson.

Magpies 3 v Demons 1. A good game with plenty of end to end exchange. Goals scorers were William Hall 2 and Hayley Sargent 1 for the Magpies and Joel Bradley scored for the Demons. Best and fairest for the Magpies was Jacob Camilleri, Ellen Simpson and Simon Camilleri and for the Demons Luke Webb, Ned Bott and Shannon Bradley.

Sharks v Warriors. No report received however the grapevine says that the Sharks won.

Seniors

Jack Russells 3 v Kelpies 0. Goal scorers were Johnny Butler 1, Lucas Allen and Jay Heaney 1. Best and fairest went to Jim Mayberry, Patrick Bourke and Kylie Hodgson and for the Kelpies Richard Milner, Tim O’Leary and Marissa Stone. Mastiffs 3 v Coyotes 2. Down 3-0 at half time, the Coyotes played a spirited second half to just miss 3-2. Sorelle was very accurate with his shooting, while Oscar Raynolds defended well against tough odds.
