Historic Saint Andrews in Braidwood is holding a special 'Home-Coming' weekend on Saturday 2nd and 3rd of December, to co-incide with a thanksgiving for Saint Andrews Day and a celebration of the 125th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone for their historic church.
The weekend will feature a concert on Saturday 2nd at 5.00 pm with members of the Canberra Grammar School Choir who 'took the town by storm' with a magnificent concert here last year. They will also share in the service at 9.00 am on Sunday 3rd when the preacher will be the Revd Rex Everett, who has been involved with the parish over the last four years on a number of occasions.
Parish Council would like to invite anyone with links to Saint Andrews, past or present, to join us on this special weekend. It is planned to mount a series of historic photographs to mark the occasion; if you have copies of old photos that you can provide, they would be greatly appreciated. After the weekend it is planned to put them on permanent display in our historic and recently repainted parish hall. Any photos could be sent to Mr Brian McDonald, George Street, Major's Creek 2622 or emailed to him at brian1939@bigpond.com.au
On Sunday after the service we plan to gather all present for a commemorative photograph to mark our 125th anniversary. So, if you were baptised, confirmed, or married in Saint Andrew's or are a past worshipper, please come along and join us on this special 'Home-Coming' weekend. Please pass this information on to any friends or family members who may be interested.
