After winning both the junior and overall public speaking title at the Apex Regional public speaking competition in Batemans Bay, Michael Ison from Year 9 at Braidwood Central School has gone on to win against year 11 and 12 students at the Apex District finals at Bomaderry.
Apart from being a very good speaker, Michael has consistently put the work in to write intelligent and thought-provoking speeches. Speaking on the topic "Life is what you make it," Michael delivered a thought provoking and witty speech that discussed the difficulties of breaking free from poverty, the power of positive thinking, and the randomness of life that can help or hinder one. Michael will compete at the state final to be held at the APEX State Conference in Canberra in March next year.
