Sunday was an historic moment for the Braidwood Scout Group, with the Regional Commissioner Ron Critcher present, and assisted by John Green, District Commissioner, awarded Jenna Crisp with theQueen Scout Award.

The prestigious award is gained by very few Scouts. It represents a minimum of 270 hours of effort in Community Involvement, Adventurous Activities, Personal Growth and Leadership Development.

Palerang Mayor Jim Mclaughlin, wearing his Scout Scarf & beads, and Deputy Mayor Les Hart were there to offer their congratulations.

Regional Comissioners Bob Nightingale and Michael Barnes along with District Leaders, Craig and Nicole Bindoff, Russell Heywood and Robbie Campbell were there to add voice to a rousing scout cheer from Braidwoods Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and leaders Nicole O'connell, Bente Hart and Barry Thomas.

Jenna thanked the Rovers from Queanbeyan and Venturers from Batemans Bay, Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra for making her welcome over the time she was the lone Braidwood Venturer travelling to form a unit for activities.

Proud mum Susan and dad Lyall were singled out for the support that they had given her over the years as was Barry her Venturer Leader who drove around to activities.

Neville Marsden the Group Patron was presented with a Scout Supporters Pin in recognition of his continuing service to the group.
