The Two Fires Festival is a national, three day, festival of Arts + Activism, which is held each two years in Braidwood. The Festival was initiated in honour of the life and work of Judith Wright, who had lived in Braidwood for close to thirty years.
The Festival commenced in 2005, was held in 2007 and 2009 and the next one is scheduled for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd April 2011.
The festival explores social/cultural/Indigenous and environmental issues through dialogues and sharing of ideas, creative and performing arts, including poetry and literature, music, nature conservation, education and other connected activities.
The Committee met in late 2009 to commence work for the 2011 festival. The committee members would like to invite and welcome other people in the community, who may have an interest, to come along to the next meeting on 18th January 2010.
Developing the festival is a wonderful and exciting process where we work together and much is offered to our community and nationally. Many wonderful people are involved locally and nationally to create an inspiring and thought provoking three days.
We look forward to meeting others who have an interest at the next meeting, which is to be held on Monday 1st February, at 5pm at the Community Technology Centre, Braidwood.
