.The launch of “e-Council” at Tallaganda Shire is drawing close
Council staff have been working for the last few months with a company called Commerce@Work to implement new electronic service delivery which, in its first phase, will enable easy 24-hour access to a wide range of Council information and documents.
Anyone with access to the Internet will be able to read and download Council’s business papers and minutes, management plans, policies, and draft documents on public exhibition (such as the Local Economic Development Plan).
Later on, lodging development applications, obtaining 149 and 603 certificates, paying rates and other accounts, applying for positions of employment, will all be available on-line.
Council’s website has been significantly redeveloped and enhanced to become an inter-active Internet portal, allowing ratepayers and other clients to do business with Council from the comfort of their home. Absentee ratepayers will have the ability to do business over the Internet, and to access information about building, development and noxious weeds requirements.
A Community Information session has been organised to let everyone know how the new system works. Come along and find out for yourself how Council is adapting to the electronic age.
The session is being held on Thursday May 31, 2001 at the Council Chambers, Braidwood, from 10am to 11am.
