As a landowner ajoining Monkittle Creek, I would like to thank the Braidwood Urban Landcare Group, the Department of Land and Water Resources and the Tallaganda Shire Council in helping us with the never-ending clean up of logjams which cause continual flow and erosion problems with every downpour of rain. The professional manner in which we have been consulted by all involved in the management strategy over the past two years has been commendable and I have nothing but praise to all concerned. I believe it is a brave and positive step towards turning around what is an ongoing battle in creeks and waterways both here and in many other parts of Australia and I feel fortunate to have been part of this initiative. I fail to see the logic in letting nature take its course now that we have upset the balance and allowed introduced species to run rampant where there was once diversity. JUDY KNOWLES, Monkittee Street, Braidwood.
