Metal sculptures on the block

10 Dec, 2008 10:27 AM
Students are selected from years 7 to 10 for the programme run by Braidwood artist and educator Suzi Bleach, which this year saw several students attend the NSW Sheetmetal Industry Association's Sculpture Awards for high school students in Sydney, a Cody Moran take out first prize for her sculpture.

The program aims to teach practical skills in metalworking and sculpture, but also incorporates problem solving, business and marketing skills, during the 6 ten week blocks.

The sculpture to be sold include life size animals, creatures of the imagination and oversize insects for the garden. Most of the material used has been salvaged and recycled. The auctioneers starts at 6pm.
