Unlike many other secondary students, former Braidwood student Michael Bourke has known what he wanted to do since then.
This knowledge won Michael the Campbell Page $500 scholarship for the Braidwood High School.
Following two week's work experience at G.B Auto Electrics in Year 9, Michael realised he had an interest in becoming a mechanic.
To confirm this he spent two weeks holidays in 2005 working again for this employer. Now he knows it's the job for him.
"This was a very good experience that allowed me to be certain that this was the job I'm after," Michael said.
Michael will use the funds to assist with the costs of completing the theoretical component of his apprenticeship at the Canberra Institute of Technology in Bruce.
