The NSW Minister for Planning, Frank Sartor will be visiting Braidwood today to hear directly from representatives of Braidwood Residents Association and Save Braidwood Incorporated before making a decision about the State Heritage Listing of Braidwood.
The NSW Heritage Council met on 21st December, and on the 23rd released a statement saying that "The Heritage Council has today announced its decision to recommend the listing of Braidwood and its setting on the State Heritage Register to the Minister for Planning, Hon. Frank Sartor MP. The decision was made after an extensive eight month consultation period, the consideration of over five and a half thousand public submissions and presentations at the Heritage Council meeting by key local interest groups. It is expected that the Minister will consider the matter and make a decision on whether or not to make the listing in the new year."
