Mourning service for bushfire victims

26 Feb, 2009 12:56 PM
The service was held at the National Theatre as a ecumenical service arising out of the community.

There were around 110 people in attendance as stories and songs were shared.

Messages were read from Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, Member for Eden Monaro Dr Mike Kelly, who sent his apologies, and Palerang Council.

Member for Monaro Steve Whan and his family were surprise participants in the gathering and spoke of his recent experiences as Minister for Emergency Services.

Supper was shared after the service.
