Last Thursday's Open Day at the Braidwood Multi Purpose Health Service and the opening of the refurbished Community Health Building, was an opportunity for the MPS to showcase the numerous services available from the Service and to thank the community for the great efforts in fundraising and voluntary labour to refurbish the run down building.
Attended by Local MP Steve Whan, and the Chief Executive of Greater Southern Area Health Service, Heather Gray, and Cluster Manager Ken Barnett, the building was officially opened by Jeremy Campbell-Davys, Chair of the Braidwood MPS Committee. A healthy afternoon tea was then served.
Staff and practitioners held a Health Expo throughout the facility, where it was possible to have some health test demonstrated, and see displays of the many facets of the Service and talk to some of the visiting professionals.
The MPS would like to thank the entire community for its ongoing financial and physical support.
* The MPS concept of 'a one stop shop' and viewing health as part of life has been strengthened by the availability of this facility. This project has been a true demonstration of a community taking the lead in ensuring the availability of local services.
