Tallaganda Shire Council has lodged a grant application for $415,792 under the Federal Government’s Regional Solution Program towards the construction of a new Multi-Purpose School Hall and Community Indoor Sports Centre at the Braidwood Central School.
Funds already committed to the project in the form of cash, ‘in-kind’ contributions and voluntary labour amount to $761,538.
The application has been lodged based on advice from the Department of Public Works and Services that the total project cost of such a facility, including provision for contingencies, would be in the order of $1,177,330. The proposed facility incorporates a Sports Hall (620m2), Sports Equipment Store (25M2 ), Large Equipment Store (25M2), Chair Store (33M2), Shower and Change Room (80M2 ) and a Foyer (30m2).
Council is hopeful that the grant application will be successful, however if it isn’t, it will be necessary to scale back the extent of the project and undertake a review of the design.
