Steve Whan said the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership program is a way to support the community and create local jobs.
"This is a $300,000 funding investment by the NSW Government for Monaro to help build much needed local infrastructure," Steve Whan said.
The local grants include; $45,000 for Braidwood and District Historical Society for the restoration of the verandah and facade of Braidwood Museum; $25,280 for Nerriga Progress & Sporting Association Inc for the re-roofing of Nerriga community hall; $11,398 for Braidwood Fm Inc for the establishment of a recording studio, Braidwood; $8,800 for Braidwood Preschool for new roofing and insulation; and $10,000 for Araluen Progress Association for the purchase of playground equipment for Araluen Recreation Reserve, Araluen.
The NSW Government has granted almost $35 million in local grants for 1,163 community projects across the State.
"By funding community infrastructure projects to upgrade, repair or build new facilities, the NSW Government is helping people get out and enjoy their local community," Premier Keneally said.
"Local community groups, sporting clubs and organisations are the heart of communities across NSW. We have invested in at least $300,000 worth of projects in every single electorate in NSW to ensure groups across the State receive their fair share."
"These projects will also provide a boost to the NSW economic stimulus by investing in local community infrastructure," she said.
