Mr Hobbes is an Associate at Philip Leeson Architects in Canberra. Mr Hobbes studied Architecture at Sydney University gaining Honours in 1991 and is a Registered Architect in NSW.
Mr Hobbes has over 20 years of architectural experience over a broad range of projects, including aged care, single and multi unit residential projects, and commercial work including hotels, ski lodges and resorts.
His company biography says he "values personal and communicative client relationships resulting in practical, buildable designs. David has a particular interest in heritage conservation, including architectural work, policy formulation and management planning."
Hobbes moved to Canberra from Sydney five years ago and has been spending much of his time with 20th century buildings in the ACT.
With Philip Leeson, Hobbes conducts the ACT Heritage Advisory Service on behalf of the ACT Government through the ACT Heritage Council. This is a free service available to owners of heritage listed properties and those interested in knowing more about the architectural heritage of the ACT.
In taking up the position at Palerang, Mr Hobbes says he is looking forward to working with more 19th century buildings."
Mr Hobbes will be available for consultation with Palerang residents one day a month, usually the third Thursday of the month, which is advertised in this paper. Appointments are necessary.
