Council will consider a number of variations to Council activities at tomorrow’s extraordinary meeting in Bungendore tomorrow evening. Much of the deficit is from damage to roads and bridges after rain earlier this year.
Council is required to place its Draft Community Strategic Plan, and subsidiary documents including Budget and Revenue Pricing Policy for the next Financial Year, on public exhibition for a minimum of 28 days prior to adoption.
The Braidwood and Captains Flat OOSH (Out of School Hours) Care services are singled out with a separate report to council with a suggestion that $35,000 would be saved by cease the program from 1 January 2013.
The Braidwood OOSH was opened in 2001 and currently 23 families with 28 children are registered with the service. The Captains Flat OOSH opened on 18 October 2010, and provides before school (7.00 – 8.30 am) and after school (3.00 – 6.00 pm) care for school-aged children and has eight families with 12 children registered.
In the financial year 2010/11, the operating deficit for the combined facilities was $40,136 and this is projected to rise to $70,000. In 2012/13.
Management staff and the OOSH coordinators are spending more and more time meeting licensing and other administrative obligations.
