Saturday the 6th December will starting at the theatre with screenings of 'On our Selection' with Geoffrey Rush and Dame Joan Sutherland, 'Ned Kelly' with Mick Jagger, and that great silent movie from 1929 'Robbery Under arms.'
The day will finish up with an outdoor screening of the award winning 'The Year My Voice Broke' - the 1987 coming of age in rural Australia film which was set in Braidwood.
To celebrate the 21st anniversary of the film, Wallace St will be closed to traffic from 5pm (from Lascelles St to Wilson St), and a huge 20ft high by 25ft wide screen will be erected across the street from Eureka Pizzeria to The Boiled Lolly. Everyone is invited to bring a chair, blanket or even a bean bag, sit on the street and enjoy from 6.30pm.
The film will be screened at 8pm and as special guests writer director John Duigan, and hopefully Leone Carmen, who starred alongside Noah Taylor as the lead actors of the film, will join the celebrations.
Representatives of both Kennedy Miller Mitchell, the producers of the film and Village Roadshow will also be attending.
Most food shops will be open for the evening and the film club will be having a sausage sizzle, bring a picnic if you want, we are trying to keep glass off the street so be careful.
