Paul Dann's stories at the Tussock

23 Jul, 2009 02:52 PM
He has travelled by motorcycle, with his wife on pillion, from Bombay to London and come back through USSR, Afghanistan, India and other Asian countries in 1960. To defray the costs he sold many articles and photographs

Paul started writing short stories for the Canberra Times in the 1970s, and with the features editor initiated the Short Story of the Year. He had hoped to win the first competition. It was not to be so, but as the Editor wished to publish a story each week Paul supplied several of them. Then the well went dry.

Since then Paul has published articles in various journals and, as the mood struck, has written naughty letters to editors. He has also gone through a phase of making arty black and white photos, now enjoyed by the silverfish.

The readings will be informal, taking place around a table or two and there will be questions and discussion.

Coffee and cakes can be ordered in the ordinary manner. All are welcome.

At the following meeting on August 8, Wendy McMahon Bell will read from her poems.

Table Readings at the Tussock will continue to be held every second Saturday till the end of September, 2-3pm.
