The organisation feels that this is community money and should therefore be put toward starting a community project, which can be of benefit to the Braidwood community. They have suggested that maybe the hospital would be able to benefit from these contributions.

After much thought we have decided that perhaps refurbishment of an existing room/rooms into a Special Care area eg Palliative Care with an adjoining carer's room would be appropriate and beneficial to our local residents.

As you are probably well aware, health dollars are scarce and for us to complete such a project we would be depending greatly on all the community's support hence this letter to your newspaper.

We would like this to be a community project and just not "belonging" to a specific "group" and are now asking for your support to inform our community to represent them for future planning of this project. We realise that often people are involved with other committees, this being the case one person may represent a number of organisations.

With Christmas not too far away and the reality of 'nothing' happening over the holiday period it would be appreciated if perhaps a reply notifying us of your representative and their phone number be forthcoming before the start of the holidays. We will contact representatives personally to inform them of a meeting time etc sometime in early February.
