Resource Recovery and Sustainability

24 Jan, 2006 02:21 PM
A Resource Recovery and Sustainability of Queanbeyan Seminar, organised by the Queanbeyan Business Council, Zero-Waste Australia and the Department of Environment and Conservation, will be held at the Queanbeyan City Council Bicentennial Hall on Wednesday, February 15, at 1.30pm.

Currently, the Queanbeyan Business Council is expanding its interest in projects which deal with issues relating to the sustainable growth of Queanbeyan. To this end, the Business Council is looking forward to opening a Resource Recovery and Sustainability Project. The seminar will highlight different aspects of smart resource management.

It is hoped that the seminar will help us to devise strategies enabling closer collaboration between different businesses and organisations, and will be directed toward enhancing the public and business awareness of the available programs and opportunities for waste minimisation and the smart management of resources.

The organisers are inviting businesses from the ACT, Queanbeyan and the wider region, university scholars, City Councillors and members of various government organisations, indigenous groups, service clubs to take part in the seminar.

Businesses and organisations interested in the seminar are asked to book their seat. Please contact Ania Lian (anialian@criticalpedagogy.com) by e-mail or by phone: 0421 593 447. Alternatively, please call the Queanbeyan Business Council: 6298 0204. Afternoon tea will be provided.
