Riffs and Rants Christmas Concert

Riffs and Rants Music and Arts School held their End-of-Year Concert on Sunday 6 December at the Servicemen's Club.

Fifty four of the 110 enrolled students performed on piano, keyboard, acoustic and electric guitar, vocal and ukulele. Students played a variety of pieces - traditional classical, modern contemporary, classic rock and original compositions by the students. Again the BBQ lunch between the morning and afternoon sessions was well received with more than 150 parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends in attendance including Steve's Monday Narbethong music group.

The concert also proved an apt time to announce Riffs & Rants School holiday program for Summer.

Art Week from 11-15 January, offers a week of creative activities for all school ages, including a variety of creative and visual arts, creative writing, theatre sports, music and movement, singing any many other activities cost is $75 early bird rate if booked and paid for before end of December or $100 after or casual rate of $25 per day.

Band Together: A week long workshop for anyone whose ever wanted to be in a band, from 18 - 23 January (excluding Tuesday 19 January) where our tutors will create bands, help with sound development including song selection, image development including a photo session, workshop productive rehearsal sessions and work on technique, mini sessions on creating opportunities to play, booking gigs, producing a demo, marketing, business considerations, insurance etc. will also be included for some of the older participants cost is $100 early bird or $150 after. Riffs and Rants is also offering a mini term of 5 classes in guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, piano, keyboard and flute with flexible dates between 21 December and 31 January.

Gift vouchers, Christmas stockings, sketchbooks and gifts for all arts and music lovers are available at the shop.
