Rural Training Centre is at home in Braidwood

26 Sep, 2001 07:48 AM
With the recent addition of Melissa O’Connell to the staff of the Rural Training Centre, the Braidwood district can be assured that it is well represented at the Canberra Institute of Technology.

Melissa joins local beef producer Andy Cassim who is already well known as a key presenter of Chemcert training programmes and the popular Accessing Beef Market workshop for the Rural Training Centre.

Melissa is the daughter of Jim and Moya O’Connell from Krawarree and has taken up an Office Traineeship with the Rural Training Centre.

In the few months that Melissa has been with the Centre she has taken on reception duties and is now responsible for enrolling producers in workshops and for providing information about the range of programmes available not just in Braidwood but throughout the south east of NSW.

Melissa finds her farming background assists her in advising producers about the training programmes available to them and how to access the FarmBis training subsidy.

Melissa is already well into her traineeship year and has identified herself as a valuable member of the Rural Training Centre team.

If you have any training enquiries or would like to find out more about the Rural Training Centre and industry programmes such as Chemcert then give her a call on 6207 4953 and find out what programs are scheduled for your area.
