School sculptures exhibit in Sydney

24 May, 2009 02:40 PM
Cody Klomp will present a large work of a dinosaur, titled 'Endangered Species', and Mitch Clarke with his 'Merino Ram.'

Sculpture program co-ordinator Suzi Bleach said that "the students worked really hard to get their work completed in the 10 week timeframe."

"Both Cody and Mitchell spent a fair amount of their school holidays finishing off their works. Cody worked with sheet metal over a steel armature and Mitch used flat bar and found objects, (ie. a bicycle frame to form the rams horns.) The Art of Sheetmetal Exhibition is on exhibition at the MLC Centre Lobby in Martin Place until Friday when the sculptures are officially launched and the finalist will be presented with certificates. Following the launch, the sculptures will be judged with the winners of the award being announced that same evening at the Gala Dinner.

Prior to the winners of the sculpture award being announced, all finalists and their sculptures will be introduced via a visual presentation. The students will attend the event at darling harbour with their parents.
