Show ready for annual meeting

22 Aug, 2001 08:02 AM
The Braidwood Show Society will hold its Annual General Meeting at Garanvale Woolshed on Thursday evening, August 23, commencing at 7pm.

Following the completion of AGM business, there will be a free sausage sizzle with tea and coffee.

All members are encouraged to attend and friends and others interested in the work of the society will be most welcome.

The priority of the Braidwood Show Society is to hold a successful show each year - the next show will be on Saturday March 2, 2002.

As the Braidwood Show Society moves into the 21st century, new and innovative features need to be arranged to spark the interest of the community, exhibitors and tourists. The show attracts approximately 2000 visitors through the gates. This attendance is of great value to the economic health of the shire.

New members bring new ideas. Apart from the executive positions, there are twenty-five committee positions to fill. If you haven’t been involved before, you are most welcome to join the society and to become part of the great band of people who work towards this important annual event.

If you would like to make contact with the committee before Thursday evening, you can ring the Secretary Phil Davies on 4846 1040.

The Publicity Officer Jill McLeod, is also available to discuss how you can make a valuable contribution by using your special skills. Her phone number is 4842 2626.
