'Six Bricks' in Bungendore

24 May, 2007 12:51 PM
'Six Bricks' an exhibition of paintings by Braidwood artist Sam Kidd opened at 'X Gallery' in Bungendore on 12th May.

The detritus space Sam Kidd has occupied for eighteen years has become the desired voice of this latest exhibition. The oil paintings subjectively explore bits and pieces collected over a lifetime, juxtaposed into compositions more orderly the reality.

Stories of an existence that seem to reside in fiction. The poetic character of the works, layered with gentle calmness often with the tension of a cold-edged blade, have to be read slowly- you enter with or without intrepidation.

The exhibition runs until the 16th of July. X Gallery is located at 32 Gibraltar St, next to the Royal Hotel. Open Friday and Monday 11am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10.30am-5pm or by appointment, call 62380550
