Stand by for the 131st Braidwood Show this Saturday. Get your entries in for the pavilion where almost every activity has a competition. Be it flowers, veggies, home brew, baking, wool, photography, crafts, jams and preserves, cakes, wood working and so much more-its not too late to enter. Schedules are still at the usual outlets.
This year the shearing will be faster as we are bringing in shearer friendly sheep, as our wethers at the Show Society are too big this year, so expect records to fall in the shearing competitions.
We have built new seating around the spectator area, designed, built and installed by several committee members, these seats will accommodate 80 weary show goers when the going gets tough in the late afternoon. We are extending bar hours and with the very professional Alex Watt entertaining from 2pm, there will be ambience aplenty. The seats will be especially handy for the Tug O'War at about 2.30.
The chooks are back! Rosheen has a great line up of very good looking poultry of all types which is attracting fanciers from afar.
Men don't forget to have that check up at Pit Stop, you service your vehicle regularly, why not give the body a check up-health professionals will be there to run the medical spanner over you-its quick, friendly and free and will give you added kilometers! Women, get your man to check out his vital signs, it can only be a win/win situation for both of you.
For those of you who want to drop Pavilion entries in earlier, secretary Di Izzard will be in the secretary's office at the Showground from 5-7 pm on the Friday.
Remember Eric Lightfoot and his bus can get you there and back, on the hour from Braidwood Post Office.
See you there for all the Fun of the Fair, it's the place to catch up with all of Braidwood and District at the food and drink outlets and it's a Concert featuring a rising young star Alex Watt. Only three more sleeps to go! Martin Pitt.
