Spirituality & Climate Change

17 Mar, 2010 10:47 AM
Last Friday night, Spirituality at the pub was an exciting and dynamic debate about Christian spirituality, climate change and community. Nothing different to normal, except that the leading speakers were Anglican Bishop George Browning and author of "Crunch Time" - Tony Kevin. Following their talks, questions flew thick and fast as people attending spoke passionately, seeking to understand what we can do - seeking to become reactionary, radical and ready to take part in salvaging a legacy for the children and grand children of today and tomorrow. The critical linkage between the Christian spirituality, the capacity of church leadership to give voice to the marginalised (including nature itself) was an exciting, new and radical position put forward and embraced by many who were present.
