St Bede’s Catholic Church

18 Apr, 2001 09:59 AM
Masses for next weekend - Second Sunday of Easter: Braidwood Vigil 6pm, Sunday 8am.

Weekday Masses: Tuesday - Friday 9am.

Reconciliation: Saturday 5.30pm-5.45pm, Sunday 7.30am-7.45am.

Altar Decorating Roster: April 20, Mrs F McGrath.

Church Cleaning Roster: April 20, F Scott, B and R Coffey.

Project Compassion Boxes may be returned to the church at Mass times, to be taken up with the gifts.

An Easter Thought: A new creation begins today: that is the import of Jesus’ Resurrection. That is why we read the creation account from the Book of Genesis during the Easter Vigil. That is also what Isaiah tells us when he writes: “I am about to create a new heaven and a new earth. The things of the past shall not be remembered or come to mind.”

This new creation of which Jesus is the first-born is something we can all experience now. It is not a hypothesis about the future, it is a present reality. It is the whole point of Baptism and we renew our baptismal vows every Easter.

May Easter 2001 be a time of special blessings for us all.

Anglican Parish of Braidwood

Services: Sunday April 22.

St Andrew’s Braidwood 8am Morning Prayer.

Please note that the service in St Andrew’s this Sunday will be Morning Prayer at 8am. This change is due to the Fun Run being held on the same day.

We regret the passing of Queenie Shoobridge and offer our sympathy to her family. Queenie has been a staunch member of our parish family for many years and will be greatly missed by all.

Our deepest sympathy is also extended to the family of the late Gladys Shorrock.

Many thanks to all who contributed to and helped with the Parish, White Elephant and Anglican Womens Stall on Heritage Day. This was greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Hughina Murray who was the lucky winner of the barrow load of goodies. Winner of the Anglican Womens raffle was Gwen Wright. Thanks also to the many people who supported our stalls.

St Andrew’s Uniting Church

Meetings: The Braidwood Care meeting will be in the church meeting room at 10.30am Friday April 20.

Sympathy: Our sympathy to the family of the late Mrs Queenie Shoobridge. Our sympathy also to the family of the late Mrs Gladys Shorrock.
